The world is such a beautiful place with so much possibility, hope, and passion, which surrounds us each and every day.
I recently stumbled upon a lovely blog http://findingravity.com/about/ her writing is so beautiful, and inspiring.
I must say that I absolutely love to dance! Last week I had the opportunity to go to 3 ballet classes – it is honestly soo freeing. I’m so thankful I have feet and am able to walk.
On March 19th, I was to be starting a Meisner Technique Class, unfortunately the start date has been moved to July due to lack of interest, and because of this, I’ll have to take it at a later date… I’m thinking September – hopefully they’ll still be offering it!!
This summer, Jonathan and I are going to Halifax for a couple of weeks! I’m excited as we’ll be going camping SMORES!! and we’ll be by an ocean – AMAZING. I can’t wait to take pictures and swim and have the best time!
The last few days here in Ontario have been so stunningly beautiful, but rather odd for a winter… +19C early summer? I’ll take it! Either way patio season is underway!! what a better way to spend a beautiful day ingesting delicious margaritas and sangria in the nice hot sun?
With all of this warm weather underway it has inspired me to grow our own vegetables on our patio. I really hope that the smog doesn’t get to them. I bought some watermelon seeds also we’ll see how this goes! My garlic that we had planted recently died because of the cold, lets hope it’s not the same for these guys!!
I’ve been working March Break at work this week, so that means serving a lot of families with young children. Since it’s March Break and St-Patty’s day we’re having a colouring contest for the kids. I always get cracked up by the things that children come up with! Think – Kids say the Darndest things with Bill Cosby.
Today I had a young girl of maybe about 5 or 6 come bring me her drawing, so I could post it on the wall like all the others – the picture was a unicorn - it was coloured pink, purple and blue…a little outside the lines, but that’s beyond the point. She looked at me so proudly handing me her drawing, and said “I think I’m going to win the contest :)” with the sweetest smile. I looked at her and couldn’t help but give her a few words of encouragement “I think you will too!” and gave her a high-five. She left with a smile on her face.
Later during my shift, I was serving a family of 4. Mother, father and 2 sons, I’ll say they were about 4 and 6 years old. Once they had settled up with me and were on their way out the door, I stopped them to ask the two boys if they would like to give me their drawings to be apart of the contest. They agreed and we’re excited that they could probably win a prize of some sort. The eldest of the two came up to me and showed me his drawing. He said to me “..but mine isn’t done” His was a dinosaur, coloured half blue the remainder still uncoloured. He looked so sad. I said to him ” But your dinosaur is magical! That’s why he blends in with the wall!” His mother was filling out his brothers information on his picture. Hearing this exchange she asked him if he wanted to finish his drawing, he in turn said to her ”no, I like my drawing the way it is”. He felt special. He is special, as is everyone else in this world, young and old.
The beauty is around us.
Much Love, Kristen xo
